For newborns, neonatologists are available for transport and consultation 24 hours a day. The toll free number rings into our NICU. The phone is answered by a NICU RN who then pages the attending neonatologist. (S)he will call you to discuss a patient's condition and decide if transport is desired. The neonatolgist then calls Ground Dispatch to call out the team.

For TRAUMA patients:

Double board certified Pediatric Pulmonologists/Intensivists staff the PICU and are available around the clock for consultation and transport. The pediatric toll free number rings into our PICU. The phone is answered by a PICU RN who pages the attending Pulmonologist. The PICU attending will discuss the patient and contact Dispatch to call out the team.

Pediatric Trauma Surgeons are also available 24 hours a day to accept children who have experienced blunt or penetrating trauma. The Trauma Surgeon on call can also be contacted for consultation or transport. The Trauma Team will also contact Dispatch if transport is desired.
